Happy Chanukah! Modern Day Miracle

In the frenzy of packing to move here last summer I packed our dreidels. It completely slipped my mind that dreidels outside of Israel have the Hebrew letters:

Nun-Gimmel-Hay-Shin printed on (or etched into) them
for Nes Gadol Hayah Sham; A great miracle happened there!

It didn’t even occur to me when I unpacked and placed them in our Judaica cabinet.

So this past week, Michael went out and bought a new dreidel that displays:

Nun-Gimmel-Hay-Pey
for Nes Gadol Hayah Po; A GREAT MIRACLE HAPPENED HERE!

We’re very excited and happy to be here 😀

And for those of you who don’t know the rules of the game, I’m including a link to Rabbi Scheinerman’s How to Play Dreidel page.

I was thinking of sending the old ones back to our friends in America, but I want you guys to come here too. So maybe we’ll add them to the Lag B’Omer flames in a few months. (Michael, the frugal half of this partnership, has even offered to buy you a new dreidel when you move here! From a man who hates to spend money, that truly is a miracle!)

We received a link to this cute Chanukah video (below) from Nefesh B’Nefesh and thought it would make an excellent electronic greeting to share with all our friends back in America.

Wishing you were here – Chanukah Sameach!
